When Louisiana pol David Vitter was soliciting the D.C. Madam’s call girls back in the late 1990′s, he was one of the GOP magpies criticizing President Clinton for having extramarital sex:

Vitter Flashback: Clinton Should Resign (from thinkprogress.org, 7-10-07)

Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) first got his start in Congress after replacing former Rep. Bob Livingston (R-LA), who “abruptly resigned after disclosures of numerous affairs” in 1998. At the time, Vitter argued that an extramarital affair was grounds for resignation:

“I think Livingston’s stepping down makes a very powerful argument that Clinton should resign as well and move beyond this mess,” he said. [Atlanta Journal and Constitution, 12/20/98]

This is why we posted here last week that if Ann Coulter is spouting off that Clinton and John Edwards are homosexual, that sends up a red flag that she is. Not that her bedroom life should matter- but it does if you open that boudoir door through the device of judgement. But we won’t judge Coulter. As for Senator Vitter, it’s a much a private matter of him and his wife and family as it was for Clinton.

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. Gospel of Matthew, 7:5
