Dan Rather claims CBS hung him out to dry in the whole Bush National Guard fiasco:

Good for him- The President did skip out on some of his Guard duty, whether the documents in question were originals from 1968 or reproductions because such files are often reprinted, or even digitized in keeping with contemporary storage and technology procedures. No one at the “Tiffany Network” had Rather’s back, despite his 40 years of service, and a few (Andy Rooney, Bob Schieffer, Mike Wallace, Walter Cronkite) made unprofessional public comments to the effect they were not fond of him. Why get personal? The MemoGate story is about business. What happened to professional courtesy- cops sticking up for cops, teachers for accused teachers, military for military? Why, reporters are generally so conscientious they will serve jail time rather than reveal a source.
Go get ‘em Dan!
