Howard University Symposium on Negro League Basebell

I will be serving as moderator for the following panel:

The Department of Theatre Arts will present a symposium on Negro Leagues Baseball from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Thursday, March 11, in the Blackburn Center Forum. Featured panelists will include four former Negro Leagues Baseball players: Fred Valentine of the Washington Black Senators, Pedro Sierra of the Detroit Stars, Mamie “Peanuts” Johnson of the Indianapolis Clowns, and Ed Banks of the Newark Eagles. Ron Harris, former Howard University assistant baseball coach, and Emory Tolbert, Ph.D., chairman of the Howard University History Department, will also be in attendance. Sports journalist Bijan Bayne will serve as moderator. Please join us for what promises to be an exciting and informative event. This event is free and open to the public.
